KERI

Ever-growing woman
Keri grew up in an exceptionally athletic home. Her father coached college football, and her mother was devoted to exercise and physical health. From an early age, Keri learned by example the importance of caring for the body through nutrition, exercise, wellness, relaxation, and sleep.

Keri and her brothers went on to compete in collegiate sports, a season of life she describes as "stimulating, challenging, successful, and tangible".

She understood how to train her body.
She understood how to work hard.
She understood how to pursue a goal.
She understood how to win on a team.

It was good, but not whole.

When What She Knew Wasn't Enough
Hardship in Keri's early twenties exposed a foundation she hadn't yet learned to build: the health of her spirit and soul.

An injury abruptly ended her college sports career. Moving forward required something beyond the physical strength she had spent years developing. Keri remembers realizing that she could not find within herself the ability to repair her broken body—or her broken heart.

It was deeply sobering. During this difficult season, her life trajectory was shifting. One of Keri’s former softball coaches who was also a pastor began spending time with her, teaching her from the Bible. Teaching her, again, about Jesus. She had learned about Jesus on many different occasions throughout her life and remained open to Him. But her adolescence didn’t include discipleship or consistent formation of faith. Through those conversations, Jesus made Himself known to her. She was ready for Jesus to show her who she was. This began her discovery of her God-given identity.

Understanding that she was created by God with purpose and loved with an all-encompassing love, Keri's life was forever changed.

But the journey toward wholeness had just begun.

A New Understanding of Health

When Keri chose to believe in Jesus Christ as Savior, turning from her sins and receiving forgiveness from God, her understanding of herself—and of health—began to change.

She came to understand herself as spirit, soul, and body, and began to see health through this whole-person perspective. She was learning what it meant to allow the Holy Spirit to lead and transform her from within.

Keri describes this awakening:
“When I chose to believe in Jesus (God the Son) as Savior, turning from my sins and receiving forgiveness from God (God the Father), Holy Spirit (God the Spirit) filled me and my spirit became alive in Christ. This changed everything about my life within.”

For Keri, knowing God didn't simply add another dimension to the life she already understood.

It changed the way she understood the whole of life.

The physical health she had valued for years was still good. But now she understood that health could not be separated from the condition of the soul or the life of the spirit.

She had discovered a different kind of wholeness—one rooted in relationship with God.

“I received a new spiritual understanding of myself as three parts: spirit, soul, and body. The Holy Spirit began communicating with my spirit, giving me knowledge and understanding of my soul. Before having the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, I didn’t have the ability to see, discern, or understand my soul in this way. My perception was incredibly limited without God.

Upon salvation, my concept of health received a major upgrade. I could now learn about health from God, the One who created me and designed me with purpose. I could benefit from the completeness of God working through my spirit to guide and govern my soul and body.

Knowing God and walking with Him proved to be the greatest gift. And it was only the beginning.”

Stewarding Whole Health

Keri's understanding of whole health continues to develop through the everyday practice of following God. She describes it as making one choice at a time—seeking His direction for the priorities, practices, and decisions that shape her health.

“When I look to God as my leader, I encounter His will and counsel for my health. I experience immense relief from the help I receive by way of the counsel of Holy Spirit, for how to live out biblical instruction for my health every day.”

For Keri, whole health is not simply a set of practices or disciplines. It is learning to live with God as her source of truth and direction, allowing Him to shape how she understands and cares for her spirit, soul, and body.

That perspective continues to shape the way she lives—and the way she serves others through Wholly Healthy.

Why Wholly Healthy

Keri's own journey became the foundation for Wholly Healthy.

What began as a personal discovery—that physical health is good, but not whole—grew into a desire to help others experience the freedom, understanding, and transformation she found through relationship with God.

Wholly Healthy's Bible-based approach to relationship, accountability, and service invites people into that same journey: learning to practice whole health with God as Leader and Lord.
